Today is the fourth day of political confrontations in Nepal between the ruling political parties and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoists) who have asked for Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to resign. This is the usual modus operandi, the same old formula of intimidation, confrontation, threats and terror that the CPN Maoists have used time and again. Enough is enough, it is time to put a stop to all this madness. The Nepali people have suffered enough that the political parties have completely messed up the beautiful, "Paradise on Earth" country with their ego, greed, corruption, moral bankruptcy and short sightedness.

We at Rashtrabadi Gorkha Seva Dal feel strongly that the Prime Minister need not give in to this criminal and illegal protests with no rhyme or reason. Prime Minister Nepal did the right thing by briefing the foreign diplomats about the government's stand and that the sole blame for this crisis lies with the CPN Maoists. The unconstitutional steps taken by the main opposition Unified CPN (Maoist) to weaken the government is criminal and illegal. Also the CPN Maoists have caused pain and suffering to the Nepali citizens by their threats and terror tactics. The inhabitants of Kathmandu valley are being abused and tormented by this strike. They should immediately put a stop to this inhuman behavior.

The situation in the country is worsening day by day. Also the many tourists and visitors who would be visiting Nepal are staying away and have canceled their visit. Nepal depends on tourism. Soon the foreign governments will issue travel advisories warning their citizens from traveling to Nepal.

Rastrabadi Gorkha Seva Dal does not support the idea of a consensus among the parties to end the political crisis, as suggested by the diplomats. If the CPN Moists and its supporters do not wish to play by the rules and live under the "Rule of Law" then they should be made responsible for all the loss, destruction and damages they are causing to the nation and people. In fact this is quite offensive to the Nepali people . This only encourages other political parties and war lords to take to the streets and declare strikes and bandhs to push in their demands. This has been going on for years now. Even though US ambassador to Nepal Scott H DeLisi has stated the U.S. policy on Nepal "We advised the prime minister that consensus is needed among parties to end the current political crisis." RGSD feels that foreign governments should stay out of this political stalemate. This goes for India, China, the European nations and other nations too.

We are not in favor of PM Nepal extending the UNMIN's term, which expires on May 15. The UNMIN has been a biased, unfair and dubious interference into Nepal. The mandate given to the UNMIN, which is to monitor the peace agreement and process has been a failure as the CPN Maoists have violated the agreements repeatedly. The UNMIN has only been a spectator to the CPN Maoists abuses from using child soldiers, party workers, and carrying illicit fire arms and explosives, and continuing with their extortion's, intimidation, land grabbing, kidnapping and many other crimes.

RGSD protests the interference into Nepal’s independence and sovereignty by uncalled for suggestions for mediation made by Norway and the Carter Center offers to help in the current crisis. Nepal and the Nepali people will be the better off without their unwelcome interference from outside players. The world is fully aware of what happened to Norway's interference into Sri Lanka, and other parts of the world.

Last but not the least, we at RGSD hold the political leaders responsible for Nepal's failiure as a nation and the people will hold the political leaders and parties accountable to the full extent of international laws.
